Expanded pure mineral graphite with special nickel-alloy reinforcement

Characteristics

The GR80SGR OXYGEN BAM gasket is a high-quality product made with pure expanded graphite yarn and produced through a contamination-free process. This gasket is flexible and exhibits excellent aging resistance when exposed to pure oxygen at 300°C and 220 bar pressure. Additionally, tests conducted on aged samples have shown that the gasket does not exhibit auto-ignition up to a temperature of 500°C. These characteristics make the GR80SGR OXY an ideal choice for applications that require high temperature and pressure resistance in the presence of pure oxygen.

Applications

The GR80SGR OXYGEN BAM gasket is specifically designed for oxygen service and intended for use in maintaining valves used in this type of service, but it can also be used for valves that require its high-performance features. It complies with the weight loss requirements established by the EN 14772 standard, section 6.7 and meets the safety requirements specified by the BAM certificate (report no. 2-952/2014E).

  • The maximum indicated temperature of 300°C is related to the use of the product with a fluid 100% oxygen. For fluids with lower oxygen content, the product can be used at higher temperatures. In this case, consult the Carrara technical office for futher information.
