Characteristics

The graphite braid GR8748 is characterized by a particular structure, making it a high-performance and reliable product for demanding industrial applications. Made with expanded mineral graphite yarn at its core and continuous P.A.N. graphite yarn reinforced with discontinuous Inconel™ filaments on the corners, this packing offers superior resistance to high temperatures and corrosive conditions. Each yarn is impregnated with a compound of graphite powder and inorganic corrosion inhibitor, ensuring greater durability and reliability. Applications

  • The peak temperature can be sustained for short exposures

  • With weakly oxidizing agents and hot air the temperature must be limited to 450 ° C

  • With steam and non-oxidizing fluids the temperature must be limited to 650 ° C

  • Graphite and carbon cannot be used with oxidizing fluids
