Composition
The Metalbond™ reinforced graphite flat gasket with an internal protective ring, which enhances sealing performance, is a solution designed to minimize fluid diffusion through the most highly stressed area of the gasket. It is a cost-effective and long-lasting gasket because the steel ring prevents erosion of the innermost sealing edge while also preventing fluid penetration between the metal insert and the graphite.
Characteristics
Expanded graphite C > 98.00% with perforated metal reinforcement and an internal steel protective ring. Since the graphite does not come into direct contact with the fluid, the mechanical properties of the seal remain unchanged over time, ensuring a longer service life, together with a drastic reduction in fugitive emissions, greater safety and lower operating costs.
Applications
Reinforced expanded graphite flat gaskets for flanges. Graphite cannot be used with oxidizing fluids.
