In advanced configurations such as Cup & Cone (in Controller ONE models), these stem packings enable optimal distribution of tightening forces, reducing fugitive emissions and operating torque on the stem.

 

Among the Performer stem packings, Carrara also includes the special modified PTFE gasket certified by BAM for oxygen service, manufactured in a Chevron ring configuration.

In light of the increasing adoption of “FE Prototype Tests” on industrial valves, required from manufacturers to ensure compliance with regulations imposed by End Users, Carrara S.p.A. provides its customers with a dedicated in-house laboratory specifically equipped to perform fugitive emissions testing.

The facility is capable of accommodating valves up to 12” in size and allows the execution of Fugitive Emissions tests in accordance with applicable standards, with the possibility of attendance and supervision by third-party inspectors.

Carrara S.p.A. was the first Italian manufacturer of expanded graphite sealing rings for industrial valves to establish, within its own facilities, a laboratory dedicated to Fugitive Emissions testing using helium (He) and methane (CH₄), with the aim of developing and strengthening specialized technical expertise in this field.
